Jeep Safari Island Tour
A day out which takes you literally off the tourist trail, revealing the hidden Zakynthos.
We have teamed up with Jeep Safari Zakynthos for this trip. We go off-road (lots of fun!) up Skopos Mountain with its panoramic views across the south of the island. Up here you will find the tiny little white church of Skopiotisa with its mythical links to the Goddess Artemis, also former site of a temple to the God Apollo.
Driving along winding mountain roads and through scented heathland, and have a coffee stop at Louha, one of three villages untouched by the 1953 earthquake.
Visit Ypera Gathos, one of the oldest monasteries in Greece; swim and snorkel in the blue lagoons at Limniosas, then have a relaxing lunch at the taverna on the rocks above (not included). From there visit the village of Exo Hora and its famous 52 fresh water springs; marvel at the Shipwreck and the monastery at Anafonitra, then end a perfect day with a swim at Makrigalos before returning homeward.
