ECO-TOURISM EXCURSIONS

Snorkelling Adventure & Turtle Spotting in NMPZ

This trip explores the deserted northern end of the Keri coastline as well as the NMPZ area, and brings you up close and personal with the underwater world.

The boat leaves from Zakynthos Town with pick up points along the east coast. The adventure begins at Porto Roma at 10.30 and takes us along the outside of the Bay of Laganas, up the east coast of Keri. Here we make several stops to exploring the coast line, sheer white cliffs, secret caves and isolated sun-drenched beaches. You can swim and snorkel as much as you like, sunbathe and take photographs. Bring your underwater camera!

From Keri we make our way into the NMPZ stopping at Marathonissi Island for a swim and snorkelling stop in the clear blue water. You can even feed the fish! We then observe Caretta-caretta in their natural environment. A volunteer from Archelon, STPS gives a presentation on Loggerhead Sea Turtles and their habitat. As we are in the NMPZ we abide by the rules and guidelines of the Park, so please listen to the captain on board. We also ask our guests not to handle or pick up any marine life you see during the trip to minimise disturbance and stress to the animals.

We then make our way homeward, taking photographs of Pelouzo island, her ruined monastery and sea birds en route.
